ES Minister hosted the Ambassador of Japan: productive cooperation is highly appreciated
On December 3 Minister of Emergency Situations Feliks Tsolakyan hosted Jun Yamada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in the RA and Megumi Maekava, Second Secretary of the Embassy.
ES Minister highlighted in his welcome speech addressed to the Ambassador that the cooperation with Japan is at a unique level. The Government of Japan had serious investments in enhancing capacity of civil resistance in case of various types of crisis of the Republic of Armenia. Joint activity with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is particularly close, which have been implemented since 2007.
Due to the cooperation with Japan fire and rescue parts have been technically upgraded, seismic risk assessment and management planning, landslide disaster management have been implemented in the Republic of Armenia, as well as numerous MES employees have gone on a mission to Japan for the aim of training and exchange of experience.
Minister Tsolakyan and Ambassador Jun Yamada appreciated the importance of relations at high level and mutual visits.
At the end of the meeting Feliks Tsolakyan rewarded Ambassador Jun Yamada with “Cooperation for the sake of Rescue” medal.
Ambassador of Japan expressed gratitude for the high appreciation and wishes and assured that he would invest maximum efforts to raise Armenian-Japan cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
